Taxiin is Madeira Island’s first and only locally built taxi app, headquartered in Funchal, Portugal. The mission of Taxiin is to give an established, tech-first app that serves riders through an app with the same reliability and professionalism that the island’s taxi network has always delivered by phone.
Taxiiin serves Madeira’s distinctive taxi market with a diverse, multilingual rider base year-round: locals who know the island, and visitors arriving from across Europe and beyond who speak Portuguese, English, French, and German. The platform supports all four languages natively, giving every rider a booking experience in their own language, regardless of service type.

The Challenges Taxiin Sets Out to Solve
Taxiin had faced challenges in building a taxi platform with a distinctive app experience for all service types and compatibility with a varied user base. They were getting something a generic off-the-shelf app could not address without meaningful configuration. Some of their major challenges also included:
- Taxiin wanted to launch a customer factoring app for riders who expect to book, track, and pay digitally.
